Saffron chicken wings are a delicious and easy way to elevate your next gathering with a touch of Persian cuisine. This recipe infuses chicken wings with the vibrant flavour of saffron, a spice revered for its aroma and subtle earthiness.
The wings are marinated in a creamy mixture of yogurt and mayonnaise, which helps to tenderize the meat and create a beautifully crispy exterior when baked or grilled. Hints of paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder add depth to the flavour profile, while a touch of cayenne pepper provides a gentle kick.
Bell peppers and onions add pops of color and sweetness to the dish, making it a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Whether you're hosting a game day party, a casual potluck, or a family dinner, these saffron chicken wings are sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine chicken wings, salt, and pepper.
In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt, mayonnaise, olive oil, saffron, turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
Pour the marinade over the chicken wings and toss to coat.
Add the bell pepper and onion to the bowl and toss to coat.
Spread the chicken wings in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken wings are cooked through and crispy.

You can also add other spices to the marinade, such as cumin powder, chili powder, or oregano.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch dressing, ketchup, or barbecue sauce.
